Camerons New Year Speech. Comment from Robert Winchurch of Mobilityproducts4U

Posted By ROBERT WINCHURCH

Things surprise me sometimes and make me think and when I saw part of Mr Cameron's new year speech I thought he must have been in his ((parallel universe))  when he wrote it!
I assume most of the content came to him in a dream, he says that he and his government are on the right track! The only problem with that is he does not know which track it is or where it is going! no mention of Europe and our standing in there but then I suppose he is waiting for Tony Blair to be elected President to save the UK from itself.
He does talk about getting people off benefit and into meaning full employment, a nice sentiment but where are the jobs supposed to come from? Perhaps he could ask those working at Remploy and all of those who used to work there if they would prefer to be living on benefits or if they would just like to be back in meaning full employment at the companies that his henchman Ian Duncan Smith decided to close down.
This of course was a decision made for the absolute benefit of those disabled people who had been employed by Remploy with dignity and a basic living wage so that they could go out and integrate into the mainstream employment. Only one thing wrong with that is that there are not enough jobs for the able bodied in the real world let alone expecting companies to make major adjustments to their work place to allow those in wheelchairs or those who are visually impaired to join the company!
Time to get real Mr Cameron and to start thinking about how we can alter this society so that we are "All in it together" not some of us racking in massive bonuses for fixing the Libor rates or allowing payday loan companies to charge extorionet rates of interest to those who cannot afford it but probably do not know where else to go. Perhaps it is time for the government to really take control of the money lenders!
The other thoughts I had centred on the New Years Honours list, why if it is a New Years list was it made public on Saturday the 29th of December? Should it not have been released on January the 1st 2013?
So nice to see though that the honours list truly reflects achievements ans success by the people they are bestowed up on. Take Hector Sants for instance, he is the former Chief Executive of the Financial Services Authority and was heavily criticised over regulatory failures of that body during the time of the financial crisis, guess what he is now Sir Hector Sants, hey way to go make a mess of a top job and get a knighthood, is it possible that soon we might see Dame Rebakah Brookes?

Many Thanks to Robert for that . He runs a Mobility Products company and wanted to share his disgust over Govt Policy.

Disabled or disabled by sickness/illness, feel attacked?

Theres a lot of talk about definitions going on , who's sick, whos disabled, are you really sick, does that disability count... and so on an so on.
A true culture of power persecuting "disabled" mainly led by media and DWP press releases, and a minister for the disabled that by all accounts believes taking money from the sick/ disabled will empower them.
Not In My Name does she act.
Not in your name does she act.

Which is why i smiled when i saw this picture/ graphic.

I dont know whether this is photoshopped/ imposed or what.

Never the less, if he said it: GOOD MAN

i'm a bit stuck on something, but any assistance appreciated

This is a bit techie... for one of these ..

I have revived an old laptop that is now a useful thing when I dont want to use main lappy, which is ace.

I have put Linux Debian on it (the old one).

There used to be a thing called compcache , and in later distributions of linux thats called zram now.
the zram is already used on the other laptop which is on ubuntu.

If theres a techie that can send me what i need to do in root terminal with exact instructions, i'd like to try and increase ram virtually on the old machine with debian on it.

Anyone help me on that? cos thats the bit i'm quite stuck with.

Anyone?
Cheers
Jules.

Reporting Child Abuse Accounts on Twitter

If you discover an abusive account on twitter ...

I emailed Cp@twitter.com re the abusive account.

Their reply was almost instant.

Their reply looks like this:

This is american based reporting, and so you should probably also email your  police service where you are in the UK .

But reporting to twitter by email rather than blocking will speed removal of account .

Welfare suffering?

Comments I found .

My neighbour, who is a single parent with two children, was recently sanctioned and has lost her benefits in the run-up to xmas. The reason for the sanctioning appears to be that she wrote a letter of complaint about her work programme provider. The woman who 'supervises' my neighbour is consistently rude and unhelpful, and told her she was 'thick' because she left school at 16, as well as making other nasty comments. Rightly my neighbour wrote to complain immediately after which her benefit was stopped. These programmes are supposed to help people into work by reskilling them and boosting their self-esteem. How telling someone they're thick fits with that I have no idea. I wont give the name of this woman, but when I looked her up online she's regional manager for this place. I wish there was some action I could take but don't want to make my neighbour's situation worse.

What I'd like to do to IDS and his sanctimonious ilk is unprintable.

I'm an advice worker and I'm getting increasingly bad stories about the WP providers from some of my clients.
Confidentiality policy stops me from giving information about individual cases but their cases are similar to your neighbours. All the evidence I have come across so far is that the WP providers seem to be all about punishing people for being out of work - not helping them to find work.
People who have illness/disability are not having their special needs taken into account,so it can only be a matter of time before a major health and safety incident occurs from somebody being placed on a work placement which is not suitable for them - not to mention my fear that the suicide rate is going to continue rising.
Your neighbour is entitled to appeal the sanctions and should be encouraged to do so. We must put a stop to this state sanctioned bullying and show the bastards they can't get away with treating people like dirt.

My sister was in the same situation. She attended a WP the woman in her 'class' treated everyone in there like they were all workshy shirkers who she could treat however she wanted to. She actually told my sister she was a "lazy bitch" who she (the WP woman) was having to get out of bed for to go to work everyday to pay the taxes that were given to "lazy bastards" like my sister.

My sister complained, and put her complaint in writing. She complained to the job centre, together with another woman from the same session. My sister received a sanction. Her money has been stopped and she is appealing.

This attitude that everyone out of work and on benefits are 'workshy benefit scroungers' is exactly what the govt propaganda machine has been spouting out. They have done this deliberately in order to divide and rule, set the working poor against the non-working poor. It is immoral and it is getting worse.

Everytime they do yet another obscenity against the unemployed they get away with it, and that only encourages them to commit even further atrocities.

In PMQ's one MP held a suicide letter in his hand from one of his deceased constituents. He killed himself because of the hardships he had suffered because of the unfair and discriminatory changes to sickness and disability benefits. The poor man felt he had no place left to turn. His blood is on the govt's hands.... on IDS's hands.... and Duncan Smith has the nerve to call himself a christian.

Who In The Gov.Uk crowd Knows about exclusion? Who's on net providers payrolls?

Just as Unemployed get absoluted decree that net is neccessary/ obligatory and yet benefits are so difficult to achieve without net and tescos put prices up, as are many doing. How will this work? its carcrash and social cohesion and justice disaster. Do you understand that the scrounger rhetoric slams unemployed and sick with internet capability, yet the machine that is supposed to support those people, including me, is now set to demand something that they condemn in the media? And that the capitalist opportunists are making more expensive as a direct result no doubt? And those in need will not afford this ludicrous situation and be denied. Even though there always will be a paper option, so I'm told, the latest I.D.Smith Statement says little of the paper options. And Librarys who have public internet free are closing, and have max two hour limits , and sessions are hard to book through massive over subscriptions already, often, so this my friend... This is truly twisted.

A short blog , just to tell you I know LOADS without net. AND THIS IS MADNESS.

The Rules on JSA sanctions

Its a big doc, but heres the sanctions rules for decision makers

https://docs.google.com/open?id=1ANCciZlLYQGQe9hm7KwKekdKXxJfJ7NTM4AnuHXgywV7VsW-NtESAuROqo9t

I posted this cos people keep talking about wrongful sanctions.

The fact i'm concerned about is a conversation earlier re sanctions for not affording travel.
Rules state an hour walking each way for a fit, healthy person is expected, that perhaps is too "median" and even fit/healthy have different walk speeds.
But the conversation said the person went to a CAB centre for an imposed sanction for non attendance cos they couldnt afford the transport.
